The owner of Musikhaus Hermann only awards this title to very special instruments that are equipped with the special MHH upgrade specs such as special wood selection, thinner nitro lacquer for optimum resonance and special pickups. Of course the Murphy Lab's “Authentic Aging”, which corresponds to the more common “Light Aging”, is also particularly worth mentioning. In contrast to the “Ultra Light Aging” these “light aged” models are extremely difficult to obtain and have enormous delivery times. And with this Black Beauty the guys from Murphy Lab have once again shown exactly what they are capable of. This “black dream” shows exactly the right, rather subtle vintage patina: countless hairline cracks, but only a few minor flaws and paint abrasions in the characteristic places. This is exactly what a real old one looks like! ...and when it comes to the sound you quickly realize that you are holding a special instrument in your hands: fast response, differentiated, super attack, great frequency spectrum and smacking sounds. The exclusive “Murphy Spec” Custombuckers (underwound on the neck), modeled on old PAFs, really do a great job here and of course the extremely resonant basic character of the guitar also shows its best side! Wonderfully growly basses, wiry mids and radiant highs! Absolutely top sound, warm, bluesy and transparent as required, but also nicely smacking and biting with distortion. You can work excellently with the tone here and thanks to the option of singlecoil operation you can even create classic Strat sounds with the Les Paul, so that you can really be at home in any style of music. And the perfect medium neck with the “MHH CC59 Authentic Fine Carved Rounded” profile plays excellently with an optimum fit and very modern playing comfort thanks to the Narrow/Tall frets!
