This exquisitely beautiful, strictly limited edition PRS is an authentic replica of the pre-production model of the Santana guitar. The model was originally made in a very small run for the 2019 Crossroads Festival, but due to high demand was built a few more times in the following two years. As usual with Private Stock models you'll find only the finest specs here: a fantastic Curly Maple top, Mahogany body and neck, African Blackwood fingerboard, ornate "Solid Green Ripple Abalone" inlays, plus the tried-and-true Gen II tremolo and Phase III locking tuners. Pickups used are a PAF-like 58/15 Humbucker on the neck and the much hotter HFS Humbucker on the bridge (HFS stands for "Hot, Fat & Screams"). As expected you can conjure up the creamiest lead sounds from this guitar. The Santana Retro is made for melodic lines with lots of sustain and soulful bends. The fact that it never muddles is thanks to the brilliant, clear and transparent basic character of the guitar, which also shines through in clean sounds. The flawless playing comfort with the special Santana C-neck profile does the rest to make this guitar an experience in a class of its own!
