Dean Hardtail USA Prototype (2002)

The company Dean, founded 1976 in Chicago by Dean Zelinsky, stands for innovative and modern guitar work. This is one of the reasons why greats like ZZ-Top, Molly Hatchet, Dimebag Darrel, Michael Schenker and many more have played these guitars and still do. This model is an Icon Hardtail Prototype from 2002, Made in USA. The green-flamed maple top gives this guitar an incredibly noble look. The feel of the guitar is definitely very modern. Slim neck, very fast and equally comfortable in all positions. The neck pickup delivers fat and modern sounds with enough treble to keep it from being muddy. The bridge pickup feels at home in the distorted world. The highlight is the intermediate position. This one is soldered in out-of-phase. All of a sudden you are back home in the good old Blues time. Dean uses only the best components for the USA guitars. There is nothing to complain about. The potentiometers have an excellent control path. From hi-gain to clean everything is adjustable here. Also the tone pots really get into it. If you are fast enough with the little finger of your right hand, you almost save a wah-wah on the board. Very rare in this version and color!
