Fender Showmaster Set Neck (2005)

The Fender Showmaster, made in the Custom Shop from 1998 to 2009, is a real rarity. The goal with this model was to build a superstrat that not only looks classy, but also meets all the requirements for handling and sound. With this specimen from 2005 (in rare version with Tele headstock) this was also 100% successful! First of all, the guitar comes with a sensationally flamed carved top, which is framed by a wood binding on the mahogany body. The neck was glued in, which is not typical for Fender, which provides an extra portion of sustain. In general, the sound is a blast even without an amp, nice full and balanced, but still more lively than a Les Paul. The pickups used here are a Seymour Duncan Custom TB-11 Trembucker at the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates at the neck, which turn out to be the perfect mix for all rock sounds at the amp. Nice and fat, but always transparent and 3D. The previous owner soldered the guitar from 3-way to 5-way, so that you get two singlecoil split sounds in addition to the three humbucker positions. The playability of the rather slim, but not super thin neck is just fabulously good and the tremolo works smoothly and very low in detuning thanks to two-point screw and roller saddle. So here you get a modern player that leaves nothing to be desired in terms of sound and practical value! In addition, Fender masterbuilder Ron Thorn has told us that he was responsible for the fretboard inlays on this very guitar in 2005. If you look closely, you will notice a couple traces of use in the varnish, but overall the guitar is in top condition.
