The white-blonde Stratocaster with gold hardware, which left the Fender factory in 1956, was something like the great-grandmother of all today's Custom Shop Strats. This instrument, which was put into the hands of guitarist Mary Kaye for promotional purposes, was Fender's first custom-made instrument. And the noble look is still very popular today. Here we have the interpretation of the “Mary Kaye” by masterbuilder legend Ron Thorn - and we can hardly imagine that the original sounded better! The slightly stronger neck ensures a more than above-average vibration behavior and is also really fun to play with its “57 Soft V” profile, 12” radius and Narrow/Tall frets. With electricity the “Fat 50s” singlecoils, handwound by Josefina Campos, provide an incredibly bell-like sound that is really juicy both clean and distorted. Smacky and powerful, but also transparent and very defined - everything comes together here! We can't remember ever having a better “Mary Kaye” in the house. The cherry on the cake is the relicing and the super-light weight of just 3.1 kg. We are delighted to be able to offer you this top player in top condition.
