What a killer Strat! This 1957 Heavy Relic Strat by Dale Wilson was a special order from Musikhaus Hermann. Jörg Hermann designed this guitar together with Dale Wilson and hand-selected its very special woods. Hence the name "The Wood"-Strat! Both visually and sonically simply a reference Strat! Beautiful 2-Tone-Sunburst with a heavy relicing that is unparalleled: not at all subtle with countless hairline cracks and quirks, as well as abrasions in the right places. Matching this is the fantastically flamed AAAA maple neck, which delivers with its 60-Style Oval-C profile, 9.5'' radius, and stripped back just the best and most comfortable playing experience. You won't want to take this extremely resonant super lightweight (only 3120 grams!) out of your hand, especially after you've heard it, too. The handwound Fat 50s resurrect the wonderful sound of the 50s. Mapleneck-typical the guitar comes with a lot of attack and percussiveness, but on the other hand brings more than enough warmth and substance for crunch and even heavily distorted sounds. From super clean to dirty bluesy the guitar really covers everything and always shows its own 50s character. 100-point Strat! And since the waiting times at Dale Wilson's instruments are now more than six years and he is not accepting any further orders at the moment such an exceptional Strat will not be available again too soon. At first misleading the certificate and spec sheet state that this Strat would be a "Closet Classic". This is due to the fact that only after Dale Wilson saw what an extraordinary guitar with exceptional sound and incredible weight he had created here he decided to also relic it - as the final icing on the cake, so to speak. As a special treat, he handwrote this on the spec sheet with the words "Relic" and "I have the Wood". Yes, Dale, you absolutely do have the wood!
