Here we have another very special specimen from Dale Wilson: a 1961 Stratocaster, which the master has treated us to with a truly incredibly beautiful heavy-reliced “Fire Mist Gold” finish. It has a magnificently rocked-out appearance and with all these signs of aging you could actually think that this Strat had been played in clubs for decades. A thousand small and large cracks, countless hairline cracks and perfectly placed areas without paint make it clear why Dale Wilson is considered one of the best in his field. To optimize the appearance of the guitar the previous owner made an extremely harmonious upgrade by replacing the original pickguard with a beautifully aged faux tortoise (the original is included of course). Awesome look! But of course the guitar is simply exceptional both inside and out! As the name suggests the “Josefina Handwound 59” pickups bring their very own 1950s character to the table and deliver perfectly brilliant, clear tones with plenty of twang through the amp. Nice and warm with enough substance for cool crunch and even heavily distorted sounds. From super clean to dirty bluesy the Stratocaster covers everything in the best possible way. The neck with its extremely comfortable “59 Esquire C” profile, more modern 9.5" fretboard radius, unlacquered back and 6100 Jumbo frets also makes this guitar a great player that you won't want to stop strumming across the deep dark rosewood fretboard. Dale Wilson is one of the hottest masterbuilders at the Fender Custom Shop and is currently not accepting any new orders. Since the current waiting time for his instruments is now 10 years (!) we are all the more pleased to be able to offer you this fabulous gem including the frets in mint condition.
