Kyle McMillin belongs to the younger generation of masterbuilders. Before receiving this prestigious title he had already worked at Fender for 15 years and was then trained by senior masterbuilder Yuriy Shishkov. So far we have been impressed by every single one of his guitars—the combination of sound, look and playability has always been top-notch! This is also the case with this Stratocaster, which immediately captivates with its candy-colored finish in heavily reliced “Shell Pink.” Wonderfully worn and matted it displays an enormously authentic vintage patina, which is perfectly complemented by the age-appropriate greenguard and the aesthetically flamed back of the neck. By his standards McMillin has held back a little with the relicing here, giving the Strat an appearance with exactly the signs of aging you would expect from a genuine old guitar. But the guitar's playing characteristics are also impressive across the board. Although it has a classic vintage look this Stratocaster offers quite modern features that ensure extremely comfortable and enjoyable playing. Its neck with its stripped back, 9.5'‘-12’' compound radius and “60 Style Oval C” profile fits perfectly in the hand and in combination with the perfectly dressed “Vintage Upgrade” frets invites you to play faster. The only thing more beautiful than its look is the sound of this dream Strat. It features “Handwound 60's” pickups, which deliver an authentic, rich and above all fat 60s bell tone.
