Fender Stratocaster 63 Limited NAMM Journeyman Relic (2017)

This Strat was built especially for NAMM 2017 and the guys at the Fender Custom Shop really went all out. No wonder, because as you can see from the back of the guitar's headstock, this is a “30th Anniversary” model, made to mark the 30th anniversary of the Fender Custom Shop. ...and what an awesome Stratocaster we have here! The super authentic Journeyman relicing of the beautifully yellowed "Aged Olympic White" finish alone is a feast for the eyes. Wonderfully subtle with numerous hairline cracks and only a few minor imperfections, it creates a phenomenal vintage patina. The aged Greenguard and the aged pickup caps and poti knobs are a perfect match. But the visual highlight here is the wonderfully satin-finished neck made of fantastically grained AA birdseye maple. Not only beautiful to look at, but also a tactile experience that makes you never want to put the Strat down. Of course the modern 9.5'' fingerboard radius, the proven 6105 frets and the comfortable “60 Style Oval C” neck profile also contribute to this. In terms of sound, this instrument plays in the absolute top league. The “Handwound 60/63” pickups deliver exactly the Stratocaster sound you know and love: bell-like, rich and juicy both clean and distorted, smacking and powerful, but also transparent and very defined. Genuine vintage sound: round, very balanced and also slightly compressed. So we are delighted to offer you this soundmighty gem including the frets in top condition.
