We are delighted to offer you a very special Stratocaster from masterbuilder icon John Cruz, which together with the matching Cruz Telecaster (link here) from our range forms an irreplaceable pair. But aside from all the collector's aspects this unique piece is as expected also a soundmighty top-class player. A '64 Strat with a wonderfully ultra-reliced black finish, sorted alder body and formidable aging that gives the guitar a phenomenal vintage patina thanks to countless hairline cracks, minor and major dents, as well as considerable paint abrasion. The seamless and harmonious incorporation of a white Fender brand logo perfectly rounds off the fantastic overall look. Here, John Cruz went so far as to copy the original 1964 stamp on the neck heel, which is quite unusual for him. Attention to detail at its best! But above all, this Stratocaster impresses us across the board in terms of sound and playability. The neck feels like it has been played for 30 years, but with its modern specs it immediately invites you to play it unconditionally. The "Modern C" neck profile, a 7.25-9.25'' compound radius and the popular 6105 frets ensure the very best playing characteristics. In terms of sound, Cruz uses “Josefina Handwound Poblano” pickups, which are wound a little hotter than usual, to achieve a sparkling, bell-like tone balanced with a slight compression reminiscent of old Strats. From juicy Blues on the neck to silky chords in the middle positions to roaring Rock on the bridge everything is at its best here. The fact that John Cruz left the Fender Custom Shop in 2020 and his instruments are among the most sought-after masterbuilds with extremely limited availability can only be considered welcome additional information for this Stratocaster, which we can offer you in top condition except for light play wear on the first few frets.
