The guys at the Fender Custom Shop really pulled out all the stops with this Strat! Starting with the heavily aged surfer look, which captivates with its intense "Heavy Relic" finish in "Aged Sonic Blue over 3-Tone Sunburst." Countless hairline cracks, nicks, bare spots and the phenomenal overspray create the appearance as if Carl Wilson had dragged this guitar across every beach in California. As a special finishing touch you also get a color-matched and of course era-appropriate large headstock as well as a stylish fretboard binding. But the Stratocaster's playability is also first-class thanks to a 9.5" fingerboard radius, "60 Style Oval C" neck profile and the proven Narrow/Tall frets. But above all, the sound here is truly exceptional as the pickup combination can deliver all the classic Strat tones in the best possible way. "Handwound '69" at the neck, "Handwound Fat '50" in the middle (with RWRP for noise reduction) and "Texas Special" at the bridge – the perfect combination for super bell-like tones at the neck, punchy tones in the middle, silky smoothness in the in-between positions and a bright, crisp sound at the bridge. This harmonious combination allows the Stratocaster to be a true all-rounder in almost every musical genre.
