Fender Stratocaster Custom DLX Custom Shop (2013)

With the 2013 Stratocaster Custom Deluxe the Fender Custom Shop has combined the classic Strat design with modern features and a unique appearance. The AAA flamed maple top alone is enough to leave you speechless. The AA flamed maple neck with a satin back is also enchanting. The body of the Deluxe is made of lightweight okoumé wood, which in combination with the mid ‘60s oval C neck profile, 22(!) Medium Jumbo frets, a 9.5’' fingerboard radius and the practical contoured heel results in the very best playing characteristics. Fender describes this exclusive instrument as follows: “The ‘Custom Deluxe’ series is the prime example of a high-end instrument for the discerning player. We use our best woods for this series. A typical example is the ‘Custom Deluxe’ Stratocaster with a hand-selected okoumé wood body with a 3/16” thick flamed maple top and comfortable contours. Other premium features include a flamed maple neck, a 9.5" radius maple fingerboard with 22 Medium Jumbo frets, 'Fat ‘50s’ pickups, a modern wiring where the tone control for the middle pickup also affects the bridge pickup, chrome tuners with pearloid buttons and a milled 1018 tremolo bridge". The previous owner went one step further by upgrading the original tuners with locking tuners from Fender and replacing the “Fat 50's” with a complete pickguard equipped with Kloppmann's “Blug II” pickups and potis. These pickups are the result of a collaboration between Andreas Kloppmann and Stratocaster god Thomas Blug and are described by the latter as follows: “My typical Stratocaster neck pickup sound harmonizes perfectly with the beautifully mellow bridge pickup, and in the 2 & 4 positions, these wonderfully pearly intermediate sounds are created!” And so the sound on the amp delivers what the aforementioned modifications promise. Brilliant, clear and twangy sounds, bell-like and juicy, but also with plenty of smack, snap, and attack when needed! Nothing is left to be desired here, especially in the intermediate positions! So we are delighted to offer you this Strat, which combines an extraordinary look, multifaceted sound and top playability with the very best refinements, in top condition except for minimal signs of wear and tear (especially belt buckle scratches on the back side).
