This heavy-reliced ​​Stratocaster by Masterbuilder Jason Smith comes from the so-called Garage Mod series. This series is based on Stratocasters from the 70s and 80s, which were extensively modified to create individual and exclusive features. Jason Smith took a few of these modified originals and meticulously recreated them by hand. The first thing that strikes you is the incredible look – pure 80s Rock! Eddie Van Halen himself would have loved this. Black finish with a merciless, super authentic Heavy Relicing! But the most striking thing about this super Strat is undoubtedly the multifaceted tonal range offered by just one humbucker at the bridge (Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Zebra '78). Equipped with Alnico II magnets, AWG 42 wire, an underdrive capacitor that delivers a passive overdrive in the style of dirty '60s fuzz sounds and a 1pF capacitor on the rear coil, which — essentially acting as a replacement for a neck pickup — provides a warmer, more subdued sound in positions 3 and 5. The 5-way switch allows you to select the following tonal variations: full humbucker, coil-split, full humbucker with 1pF capacitor, full humbucker with underdrive capacitor and full humbucker with underdrive capacitor and 1pF capacitor. The neck with its "60s Style Oval C" profile and 9.5"-12" compound radius is exceptionally comfortable to play and invites fast runs and hard riffs on the beautifully aged maple fretboard. Furthermore, Sperzel Trim-Lok locking tuners, combined with the 2-point tremolo, promise precise tuning and high tuning stability, while the rounded neck heel allows unimpeded access to the upper frets.
