Michael “the Man” Landau, one of the most sought-after American studio musicians, who has supported countless artists such as Steve Lukather, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson and Miles Davis on their recordings and released numerous solo albums, is known for his virtuoso guitar playing and his so-called “magic chords”, in which he produces “floating” effects using a volume pedal. Of course the Fender Custom Shop had to dedicate a signature guitar to this exceptional guitarist. This Stratocaster from this signature series by masterbuilder David Brown is a truly exclusive specimen. In addition to the exceptionally beautiful finish in “3-Tone Sunburst”, refined by an impressive relicing with numerous hairline cracks, small and larger imperfections and an extremely authentic vintage patina, it impresses above all with its unique sound and great playability. "Handwound Fat 50's" were used here, which deliver a fantastic bell tone, round and pearly, yet extremely defined. As expected wonderfully earthy and expressive, ideal for the perfect Blues sound! In addition, the Landau Strat has an unusual custom pickup circuit, whereby the first tone control goes to the neck and middle pickup and the second controls the treble spectrum of the bridge pickup. The comfortable "Landau '63 Custom C" neck profile, a 7.25" radius, a stripped back neck and the proven Narrow/Tall frets ensure a perfect playing feel, making it impossible to stop whizzing over the enchantingly dark rosewood fingerboard. David Brown - together with Austin MacNutt and Andy Hicks one of the newer, extremely creative masterbuilders - has definitely shown with this fantastic Strat what the new guild in the Fender Custom Shop is capable of! We are delighted to be able to offer you this special top instrument in top condition.
