You only have to look at the greasy top and the look of the headstock with its characteristic tuners to know immediately which musical icon you are dealing with. This replica offers the unique appearance of the original '61 Strat, which is said to have had its Sunburst finish gradually destroyed over decades by Rory's allegedly extremely acidic sweat and to have been left in a damp creek bed for a long time. Of course this leaves traces that have been meticulously and authentically replicated here. We have rarely seen a teambuilt Gallagher where we have been so blown away by the greasiness and the “rocked-out” finish. In fact, the first thing that comes to mind here is a masterbuilt by John Cruz or Vincent van Trigt! The Fender Custom Shop's attention to detail even went so far as to include a “mismatched” Gotoh tuner and a dot inlay in the wrong color. "Custom '60s" singlecoils are used as pickups, which as expected are beautifully gnarly and woody. Transparent and clear they allow single notes and chords to bubble out of the amp and when the distortion is pushed, the guitar blossoms completely: screaming lead sounds and rocking rhythm riffs, just as you would expect from master Rory at his best! If you're used to warmer Strats, you'll have to get used to it a little - but if you want to play aggressive Blues Rock authentically, this is the ultimate tool. The fast neck also offers optimum playing comfort with a “60s Style Oval C” shape, 9.5” radius and Medium/Jumbo frets. The previous owner cleverly upgraded the original 3-way switch to a 5-way selector, making it much easier to select the different sound options. Apart from that we can offer you this special Strat in top condition, so all that remains to be clarified is whether the future owner has acquired an exclusive collector's item, an absolute top player or a rocking sound monster of the very highest quality...
