In 1951 the guitar formerly known as the “Broadcaster” was given a new, unusual name, marking the beginning of the phenomenal success of the “Telecaster.” Over the years one of the most popular modifications has been the addition of a humbucker at the neck. With this limited edition 1951 HS-Tele you get this pickup configuration delivered right to your door. A “Crushed Blackguard Singlecoil” awaits you at the bridge and a Seymour Duncan “Seth Lover” humbucker at the neck. As soon as you run the first notes through the amp you'll notice what a great combination this is: pure Tele twang at the bridge, the perfect mix of distinctive highs and good punch in the mid and bass ranges in the middle, ...and at the neck the guitar sounds like a Les Paul on steroids. The PAF-like sound of the humbucker gets an extra dose of assertiveness from the twang factor of the guitar. Another special feature is the George Blanda wiring: with double-stack potentiometers 500k is available for the humbucker and 250k for the singlecoil, which in practice means that the potentiometers are perfectly matched to the respective pickup, giving you a balanced control experience. The look is immediately reminiscent of Keith Richards' favorite instrument “Micawber.” This impression is reinforced when you see the humbucker's built-in pickup frame, which is rather unusual for HS Teles. Perfect relicing that further highlights the beauty of the authentic butterscotch color of the ultra-thin “Flash Coat” finish. The pleasantly strong neck with its “10/56 V” profile and 7.25-9.5" compound radius in combination with the 50085 frets ensures the very best playability. In addition, the neck has been slightly sanded and oiled on the back as an upgrade to optimize the tactile experience and the guitar's first-class playing characteristics.
