Guitarist Mary Kaye is actually known for her white-blonde Stratocaster with gold-colored hardware. Since this special look is still very popular today Wildwood Guitars regularly commissions different masterbuilders—in this case Dale Wilson—to create a corresponding Telecaster interpretation. And if you're looking for a Tele with ultimate playability and an absolutely killer sound, ...there it is! This '55 Telecaster deserves full marks in every category. With its unvarnished neck back, super comfortable “10/56V” profile and a dream weight of only 2790 grams(!) this guitar plays simply fantastic. Thanks to perfectly dressed Narrow/Tall frets and the characteristic 10" fretboard radius you'll fly across the fretboard. And then there's the sound! Already very loud, resonant, and direct when played dry, it shines so brightly through the amp that you'll never want to pick up another Tele again. This is ensured by two “Handwound WW10 Twisted Tele” pickups, which can be wonderfully bell-like and full, but also extremely concise and aggressive, not to say “dirty” when needed. This soundmighty Tele really has everything you could wish for in terms of sound. Super attack, sparkling, wiry, twangy, without ever sounding thin... that's exactly how a Tele should be! And the look speaks for itself. The Journeyman-reliced finish in “Faded Dirty White Blonde” enchants with its characteristic soft beige tone, which perfectly showcases the famous grain of the specially selected ash wood. Above all, however, the ingenious color shades immediately catch the eye, which together with the beautifully aged gold hardware result in a fabulous vintage look. The white-aged pickguard is a perfect match. As always with Wilson guitars, one highlight follows another, and as the icing on the cake the Telecaster also comes including the frets in mint condition to its future owner. Congratulations!
