Fender Telecaster 68 Paisley Heavy Relic Masterbuilt Austin MacNutt (2023)

The events of 1967 influenced societies, politics, fashion and much more worldwide in a variety of ways. Among other things the model policy at Fender, which found its direct expression in the new Blue Flower and Paisley Telecasters. We are pleased to be able to offer you Austin MacNutt's very own interpretation of a Paisley Tele, which in turn presents a completely different appearance than the interpretations of Wilson or van Trigt. None of this is surprising since Austin as a representative of the so-called new guard certainly reveals a different approach. So here the painted finish comes in a slightly lighter color with a gold-colored focal point around the neck pickup. Furthermore, the finish here has a more silver-pink color pattern, which means that the present Tele sets itself apart considerably from the look of the van Trigt/Wilson group. MacNutt also holds back on the hairline cracks and limits his rather subtle relicing to numerous flaws in the right places. When it comes to choosing pickups Austin shows the same preferences as Dale Wilson. With a handwound "Twisted Tele" pickup on the neck and a handwound "63 Tele" on the bridge it produces the characteristic Telecaster sound: twangy, lively with sufficient mids, never shrill or bright, dynamic and transparent. And here too you can enjoy a four-way switch that allows you to connect the neck and bridge pickups in parallel or in series. The playability of the guitar is first-class with its "60 Style Oval C" neck profile and the proven 6105 Narrow/Tall frets. As a special feature the neck has a 9''-11'' compound radius, which makes modern fingerboard whizzing a must.
