The Gibson ES-137 is so rare that this is the first one we've seen. It is the high-end version from the Memphis Custom Shop with beautifully flamed top, sides and back as well as custom specs like the split-diamond headstock, fingerboard inlays and great bindings on body, neck and headstock. Basically, you have a "best of" many ES guitars from Gibson: Visually close to the ES-135, but with center block and stoptail/tailpiece construction like the ES-335 and with Varitone circuitry like the ES-355. Sonically, the first choice when it comes to jazz, blues, but also rock: Thanks to the center block, you have no problems with feedback and the two 57-Classic pickups turn out to be incredibly versatile for all styles. The ES-137 is also available with 498T and 490R humbuckers, but the 57 Classic are more known for reproducing the old PAF sound - and we can really confirm that here! On top of that, it has a super playing feel with the rich but not too chunky D-profile of the neck. The guitar is in very good condition with some minor varnish marks, which could hardly be captured photographically.
