Gibson ES-335 59 Murphy Lab Ultra Heavy Aging (2023)

If you want a guitar with the worn-out look of a touring musician's favorite instrument for decades, you're best off choosing the "Ultra Heavy Aged" models from Gibson's Murphy Lab. From this series we have here a beautiful 1959 ES-335 in an incredibly flamed Natural finish with exactly this degree of aging. The finish is covered in hairline cracks, the plastic pickguard shows significant scratches, the hardware's shine has yellowed and the signs of aging in the form of dings, dongs, and lacquer wear are in just the right places to give the guitar that certain mojo! The semi-hollow has more than enough of that when it comes to its playing qualities. A beautifully authentic '50s neck with a Medium-C profile meets the fabulous sound of the unpotted Alnico III Custombuckers. Nicely crisp in the attack, fat in the midrange and superbly defined in the bass, these pickups deliver everything you know and love about old PAFs. In addition, you can split the humbuckers using the two push/pull potentiometers! And because the guitar also resonates wonderfully you're truly getting an ES-335 for life.
