It really is unbelievable what extremely well thought-out and beautiful guitars Jörg Hermann is always able to coax out of the Gibson Custom Shop. This is also the case with this custom-made guitar for Musikhaus Hermann, which was produced as part of the “Made to Measure” program. Even the look of the ES-355 is phenomenal: beautifully flamed, selected maple top with a great finish in the special color “Cobra Burst Gloss”. Especially in combination with the chrome-colored Grover tuners, a classy white binding and the detune-free Bigsby vibrato system this makes for a stunning appearance! The “Split Block” inlays also emphasize the 355's exclusive claim to the throne among the ES models. The neck feels like a Medium 59, i.e. by no means too flat, which makes the guitar extremely comfortable to play. And the sound of this Gibson is in no way inferior to its looks: beautifully round and percussive with a great attack. A clean amp and the Varitone switch in the first position are enough to produce wonderfully rich, warm, yet always differentiated tones with enough airiness in the best manner. First choice for both chords and soloing! In general, the guitar has an extremely characteristic tone that you can't get enough of. ...somewhere between an ES-335 and a Les Paul!
