In July 1989 the first handmade acoustic guitars left the Gibson guitar forge in Montana. This first shipment will forever represent the rebirth of Gibson Acoustics. To celebrate this special event Gibson Montana released the "Limited Edition 20th Anniversary Models" on July 15, 2009. Thus, there are only 20 specimens worldwide of the J-200 AN 20th Anniversary at hand. This guitar immediately impresses with its classy look: the back shows beautiful "Original Montana" inlays, back and sides are made of fine flamed maple, the extremely resonant top is made of clearly grained, hand-selected Sitka spruce, the fingerboard is decorated with attractive "Reshaped 1989 Crowns" inlays and of course the characteristically large pickguard decorated with floral patterns should not be missing. The medium Custom 1989 neck profile feels wonderful in the hand and the guitar plays like itself despite its size and the sound substance that goes with it. And yes, this is an acoustic you want to play! Its sound is of course the classic J-200 sound: pure Country and Western, also optimal for recording as the guitar is not too bass-heavy despite the relatively large sound volume. Beautiful, crisp, open trebles. Here one has his true joy in every tone! The bridge was replaced by the previous owner with a high-quality compensated bridge (original bridge enclosed) and except for minimal signs of play and characteristically beautiful, age-related hairline cracks in the varnish the guitar including the frets is in absolute top condition.
