The early 1990s are still an underrated era for Gibson guitars. Both electric and acoustic guitars from this period are fabulously good instruments that are still affordable - at least still today. This J-200 is just such a jewel! From the very first chord you get a fantastic jumbo sound that is made for the studio. A very defined frequency spectrum, no muddy bass and great, silvery highs. In addition, there is the typical jumbo phenomenon that the guitar sounds as if it already has a built-in compressor. The sound is very even and balanced, even at different attack modes. Above all, you immediately notice that this guitar, although in mint condition, is not new, but that the woods used were installed almost 30 years ago. This is not only evident from the fact that the beautiful Sitka spruce top is wonderfully darkened, but also that it arrives to its future owner perfectly swung in. Here you really get an acoustic for all situations! And the guitar also immediately impresses visually with its great look: the back and sides are made of exquisitely flamed maple, the extremely resonant top is enchanting with its great grain and of course the characteristically large pickguard decorated with floral patterns is a must. Furthermore, the medium profile of the neck sits wonderfully in the hand and the guitar plays as if by itself despite its size and the corresponding sound substance. Certainly it is also worth mentioning that the J-200 is in absolutely top condition, which is extremely rare for acoustic guitars from the 90s. You really shouldn't miss out on this one...
