This J-45 is the third collaboration between five-time Grammy winner Keb' Mo' and the Gibson Custom Shop. And what a great guitar has come out of it! Based on the proven "workhorse" J-45 with solid mahogany back and sides, a killer acoustic was created that features some special upgrades such as a thermally-aged spruce top, a 12-fret construction, a scale length extended to 25'', the custom Keb' Mo' neck profile, which in combination with a nut width of 4.58 cm is simply a dream for fingerpickers. Thermally-aged in this context means that the Sitka spruce top has been artificially aged in elaborate processes, where the interaction of temperature and pressure creates a cell structure as if the instrument came from the golden vintage years with the corresponding sound. And this sound is really great: a classic, wooden and open sound with an excellent frequency spectrum. Perfect for singer/songwriters! For stage use an "L.R. Baggs Element VTC" (Volume-Tone-Compression) of the latest generation completes the unique overall package. This is a piezo pickup that has been precisely tuned for this instrument and can be adjusted via a discreet volume and tone control on the edge of the sound hole. We are pleased to offer you this gorgeous acoustic, which comes from collector's hand, in absolutely mint, nearly unplayed condition.
