Gibson Les Paul Custom 54 Robbie Krieger "L.A. Woman" VOS (2014)

Although Robbie Krieger's Black Beauty was not seen on stage as often as his SG, she was indispensable to him when writing countless songs and on recordings. It can be heard on numerous Doors classics, especially on “L.A. Woman”. The connection between the legendary instrument and this timeless song has earned it he nickname “L.A. Woman”. In 2014 the Gibson Custom Shop produced a limited edition of 300 replicas of the famous Les Paul Custom, 50 of which were signed by Robbie, 100 were aged and a further 150 were given a VOS finish. Today we are pleased to be able to offer you a Krieger Paul in the comparatively cheaper VOS version, which is now extremely rare to get your hands on. This is a '54 Black Beauty, in which the original Alnico-5 neck pickup was replaced with a Seymour Duncan mini humbucker, which made perfect sense for Krieger, considering that he generally prefers to play with the neck pickup and the mini humbucker guarantees a hum-free tone when recording, but on the other hand the pickup slot did not have to be changed during installation. So, in addition to the ultimate collector's factor this Les Paul Custom can be called a soundmighty top player. The Seymour Duncan mini-humbucker on the neck is extremely open and has a sound somewhere between Strat and Les Paul with wonderful sustain. Perfect for singing solos! The typical throaty, differentiated P90 sound at the bridge. You can really work with the great tone here, especially with slightly distorted sounds. The neck has a medium to grippy profile, which is extremely pleasant and comfortable to play. Apart from the inevitable slight signs of use on a deep black guitar we can offer you this exclusive instrument, which should certainly not only be of interest to Doors fans, in top condition.
