What a Highlite from the 60th Anniversary Series! The 1959 Les Paul in the extremely rare color Golden Poppy Burst. It reminded me visually of the Jimmy Page Les Paul. Very well done burst, which is quite close to the Green Lemon Burst. Otherwise, like all 60th Anniversarys we had so far, best workmanship and wood selection. Even the back is a feast for the eyes. And the perfect Bookmatched-Flame Top stands out especially. I especially like the neck profile of this series. Not quite as thick as the usual 59 profile and pleasant rounded shoulders. I simply go into raptures here in terms of sound. The unpotted Alnico III Custombuckers are super dynamic, open and smacking really nice. Simply a perfect Paula, except for 2 little marks. She has a small dong on the head plate (see picture) and the toggle switch came loose during transport and left a small imprint on the back (see picture). Apart from that the Les Paul is as good as new without any traces of playing on the frets. If you can live with 2 small dongs and don't want to be annoyed by the first scratch anymore, here you get an absolute top class Les Paul at a top price.
