This 1957 True Historic Select Tom Murphy Heavy Aged is an absolutely unique guitar. Ed Wilson and Tom Murphy have simply shown what is possible here. This guitar was built as a one-off especially for Musikhaus Hermann and the manufacturing process, including hand-selection of the woods, extreme aging, numerous telephone consultations and production through to approval by the Gibson Custom Shop, took more than two years. ...and more is simply not possible! This non-chambered guitar comes with True Historic specs such as selected woods, hide-glue etc., resulting in a weight of only 3430 grams, which in combination with the neck profile modeled on the CC #7 (i.e. an extremely comfortable '59 Medium profile) guarantees the very best playing characteristics. Tom Murphy has really outdone himself here with the Extreme Aging. Rarely do you see a guitar that is so rocked out. There is certainly no need to talk about hairline cracks, individual blemishes or paint-free areas as this '57 Les Paul is a unique work of art. The pictures certainly speak for themselves. Of course it is also particularly interesting that a super curly maple top was used here, the grain of which can be seen through in the places where it has been played. Although the Paula only weighs 3430 grams it has a great resonant basic character, which the Custombucker Alnico-III True Historics transmit perfectly to the amp. Simply pure Rock n' Roll! The guitar sounds almost like it looks: super direct, dirty, rocking, smacking and very differentiated. It really comes into its own with Rock riffs and distorted open chords. Pure joy of playing! On the neck it has a very light Strat shot for bluesy sounds without mud. Tom Murphy has really managed to capture the feel and sound of the old Goldtops. So if you're looking for an extravagant, unusual Goldtop that won't be found again in this form any time soon, this is the one for you. We are delighted to be able to offer you this exclusive gem in top condition.
