Gibson Les Paul 58 Collectors Choice CC #43 Mick Ralphs (2017)
€8,990 *
Mick Ralphs, founding member of Mott the Hoople and Bad Company, is most closely associated with one guitar: a 1958 Les Paul, serial number 87049. In 2017 the Gibson Custom Shop released an exact replica of this Les Paul in a limited edition of just 300 specimens. The "Mick Ralphs" is one of the last Collectors' Choice guitars ever made. And as one of only a few CCs, it was built entirely with True Historic specs, including a lighter aluminum tailpiece, hide-glue joints and faithful reproductions of the original plastic parts. The experience Gibson gained throughout the entire CC series is evident in this guitar. The aging is incredibly authentic and the Les Paul displays countless fine hairline cracks that closely resemble genuine weather checking. This particular specimen also boasts a beautiful top with a striking grain and fantastic color gradient! Custom-wound Custombucker pickups were installed to get as close as possible to the sound of Mick Ralphs' original. Wonderfully airy, dynamic and articulate with just the right mids and bass and a slightly tighter output. Ideal for all fans of punchy Rock riffs and solo sounds à la Gary Moore. As expected, the neck on this '58 is a bit thicker, but by no means bulky; it's more like a slightly thicker '59 Medium profile. Combined with its ideal weight of just 3940 grams it plays exceptionally well and comfortably. We are pleased to offer you this exclusive Les Paul in top condition.
