Gibson Les Paul 58 Slash First Standard True Historic Vintage Gloss (2017)

In 2017 the Gibson Custom Shop and Slash set out to capture the magic, vibe and history of his original '58, serial number 8-3096, for a special series of replicas. It was perhaps the most complex project the Custom Shop had undertaken to date as the original was extremely worn and corroded. When Slash saw the resulting prototype, he said, "Stunning! I couldn't have asked for more." The replicas of Slash's "First Standard" in their various versions have now developed into absolute iconic Paulas and are not only among the most sought-after guitars from the Gibson Custom Shop, but probably also among the best. We are all the more pleased to be able to offer you another specimen from this super rare edition. And here not in the almost unaffordable “Aged” or “Aged & Signed” version, but as a cheaper “Vintage Gloss” model. Only 125 of these were made, which of course sold out immediately and hardly appear on the used market anymore. As expected the beautifully lightweight "First Standard" at hand with the serial number 036 (only 3740 grams!) impresses across the board: when played dry, it is very loud, resonant and airy, the specially wound Custombuckers let the sparks fly on the amp. Smacky, rich, but also transparent and with perfect string separation, that's how you imagine a Rock Paula! In addition, the guitar comes with the characteristic "True Historic'" specs such as selected woods, hide glue, etc., which only increases its rarity value even more. So we are pleased that we can offer this special Les Paul, which considering its beautiful top is certainly one of the most attractive First Standards, in absolute collector's condition.
