Gibson Les Paul 58 Slash First Standard True Historic Vintage Gloss (2017)

In 2017 the Gibson Custom Shop and Slash set out to capture the magic, vibe and history of his original '58, serial number 8-3096, for a special series of replicas. It was perhaps the most elaborate project the Custom Shop had undertaken to date as the original was extremely worn and corroded. When Slash saw the resulting prototype he said: "Stunning! I couldn't have wished for more." Meanwhile the replicas of Slash's "First Standard" in their various versions have developed into absolute iconic Paulas and are not only among the most sought-after guitars from the Gibson Custom Shop but probably also among the best. We are therefore all the more pleased to be able to offer you another specimen of this super rare edition. And here not in the almost unaffordable "Aged" or "Aged & Signed" version but as a more affordable "Vintage Gloss" model. Only 125 pieces were produced, which of course sold out immediately and are now rarely found on the second-hand market. The extremely lightweight "First Standard" at hand with the serial number 095 (only 3770 grams) is convincing across the board: played dry it is already very loud, resonant and airy, and the custom-wound Custombuckers on the amp let the shreds fly. Smacky, roasty, but also transparent and with perfect string separation - you can only wish for a Rock sound like this! You really feel like you're holding a real, old Les Paul in your hands.
