Gibson Les Paul 59 "InSaul" Murphy Lab Heavy Aging (2020)

We are delighted to once again be able to offer you a Les Paul from the Gibson Custom Shop, which was produced as part of Musikhaus Hermann's limited edition “Inspired by” series following Jörg Hermann's personal selection of wood. The inspiration for this guitar was of course the legendary “Appetite for Destruction” Paula of Saul Hudson, aka Slash, who used it to lay down the most extreme Rock riffs and create the best-selling debut album of all time. And as always when we get our hands on an “Inspired by” guitar from Musikhaus Hermann, we are completely thrilled. First of all we have to mention the fantastically grained AAAA “Eastern Maple” top and the extremely authentic finish in the special color “Dark Mojave Fade” with the attractive Heavy Aging of the Murphy Lab. Countless hairline cracks and a partially matted vintage patina in exactly the shade that will forever be associated with Slash. To round off the characteristic appearance of the original reflector knobs are of course a must. “Paradise City,” “Sweet Child O' Mine,” and “Welcome to the Jungle” – these are the tunes that immediately come to mind when you see this iconic Les Paul. As soon as you pick up the guitar you can feel its excellent playability thanks to its incredible dream weight of only 3370 grams(!) and the super comfortable “MHH CC7 (1959-1960)” neck profile. This unique “InSaul” actually came with the characteristic Seymour Duncan Slash Alnico-II Zebra humbuckers. However, the previous owner wanted to “top it off” and had “Peter Weihe” humbuckers from Kloppmann and the matching capacitors installed (of course the original parts are included). Peter Weihe, the grand seigneur of extraordinary studio recordings, attaches particular importance to pickups that are extremely sensitive and can produce a breathtaking range of different tones with the help of the volume poti. The HB-PW deliver powerful, singing lead sounds in the high registers without the bass strings sounding muddy when distorted. Furthermore, the pickups are immediately reminiscent of old PAFs, offering the iconic “Tele on steroids” sound. Wonderfully defined, transparent, and dynamic! Smacking with a phenomenal tone! We can offer you this unique, lightweight, soundmighty and iconic guitar, which list price including pickups was just under EUR 15,000, in mint condition.
