Gibson Les Paul 59 CC#1 Melvyn Franks Gary Moore "Greeny" Aged #002 (2010)

Some Custom Shop Les Pauls are now as sought-after as historic originals and similarly hard to come by. At the top is Collectors Choice #1, the replica of Peter Green's original Paula in the condition, in which Gary Moore owned it in later days. Unlike the previous owner the latter mounted Sperzel machine heads and two 60s Silverface poti caps on the legendary "Greeny". In addition, he clearly contributed to the aging process of the original with his not exactly squeamish playing style. In 2011 Gibson measured the guitar and rebuilt it true to detail in a limited edition of just 125 pieces. This model was also the starting point for the Collectors Choice series, where you can find the most sought-after guitars in the Custom Shop today. Gary Moore "Greenys" appear extremely rarely on the market, so finding one of the most sought-after and highly traded single digits is almost impossible. This makes it all the more incredible that we are fortunate enough to be able to offer you the present specimen with serial number 002. This is the lowest serial number ever available, as serial number 001 was handed over directly to Gary Moore. In addition, the fact is well known and confirmed by Gibson (see additional certificate of the "Gibson Custom Shop") that in the course of production of the 125 "Greeny" replicas, especially for the numbers 001 and 002 great care was taken to replicate the appearance of the original as meticulously and detail-oriented as possible, making these two guitars almost indistinguishable from the original. The fact that this Les Paul, in addition to this unique selling point and its unparalleled rarity and collector value, also looks really good, is a dream player including the characteristic "out of phase" sound and was presented at the Dallas Guitar Show by Tom Murphy himself should only be mentioned in passing.
