Gibson Les Paul 59 Collectors Choice CC#39 "Minnesota Burst" (2017)

The CC39 Andrew Raymond aka "Minnesota Burst" - a classic example of an incredibly "clean" specimen of an original 1959 Les Paul! From its original owner this guitar with the serial number 9-1105 was taken to a dealer in Minnesota, where it was sold to a private collector a little later. After that it didn't take long for the guitar to make waves in the vintage collector community as it was considered one of the most original Bursts due to its immaculate appearance, which had now suddenly emerged from obscurity. It later came into the possession of Andrew Raymond, a guitar collector from the UK. Even today it is considered one of the few particularly well-maintained guitars with original color largely intact, very little wear, and a top that exemplifies the word "flame": deep, moving, pronounced, and even. To this original burst the Gibson Custom Shop dedicated a replica in the Collector's Choice series in 2017, made entirely using the True Historic process. Accordingly, the present specimen is also an exact and detailed replica of the original Burst The neck of the CC39, limited to 300 pieces, with its stronger 59-medium profile is great in the hand, not too thick at all and with great feel. Sound-wise, the Custombuckers deliver rich, warm mids, the highs are clear and bright, the lows barky with aggressive string attack and otherwise pleasantly purring. Played clean they are enormously nuanced and three-dimensional, with distortion they are smacky and fat. That the guitars from the Gibson Collectors Choice series offer the best value retention is well known, but especially the present "Minnesota Burst" also delivers an enormous fun factor through the perfect combination of a fantastic appearance and playability with a dream weight and great sound. On the edges of the headstock this Paula shows two small spots where the nitro lacquer has discolored a bit, probably due to the use of a wall bracket. However, these two spots are difficult to identify due to the authentic aging of the guitar, so we are happy to offer you this dream guitar in mint condition (including the frets).
