Gibson Les Paul 59 Gary Rossington Tom Murphy Aged (2002)

In 2002 the Gibson Custom Shop dedicated to the recently deceased guitarist of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd, Gary Rossington, his own signature Paula in a strictly limited edition of only 250 pieces, of which it is said that it belongs to the best-sounding Les Pauls ever. Moreover, it is one of the first series where Tom Murphy did the aging himself. And what a great job he did here! Every little detail from Gary's original '59 named "Bernice" including the almost two-tone fingerboard has been meticulously recreated. You're instantly convinced you're holding a real, old Les Paul that's been rocked extensively over the decades. In conjunction with the lovely sunburst and the incredible top grain, which is just in the present specimen unprecedentedly beautiful, simply a top look! Also the playability is first class: the perfect weight of only 4015 grams contributes to this, as well as the 59 neck, which is strong but super comfortable in the hand, because the shoulders are not too extremely pronounced. And sound-wise the sun really rises here! This Les Paul can be considered a reference Paula for Blues and Rock. Powerful and dynamic tone, warm but still open, seemingly endless sustain and the characteristic woody-warm Les Paul tone. Soundwise absolute upper league! So we are happy to be able to offer you this extraordinary dream guitar, which can barely be found anymore and has become an extremely sought-after collector's item, in absolute top condition. As an additional treat the guitar also comes with a "Gary Rossington" showcase, which offers a very special storage and presentation experience.
