Jimmy Page's songs are the sounds that have accompanied me throughout my life. ...and these sounds are of course closely associated with his two Les Pauls. In this context, we are pleased to offer you a very special reissue today. Musikhaus Hermann had the Gibson Custom Shop produce a few so-called “InPages” as part of their “Inspired by” series, about which "Grand gtrs" magazine wrote that you couldn't get any closer to the original than with these Les Pauls. So today we present an ‘InPage’ that is a replica of Jimmy Page's “Number Two.” Jimmy bought the original in 1973 after trying for a long time to acquire an exceptional second Les Paul. This was a few years after he had received from Joe Walsh his “Number One,” a '59 Burst with a shaved-down neck profile and no serial number. “Number Two” was essentially completely original when he acquired it. Jimmy had some changes made to the neck shape to make it feel more like his “Number One,” which has a slim neck, but not as extreme. This one still feels really good in your hands and the neck profile is similar to a slightly slimmer '59 Medium. Jörg Hermann personally selected the wood for this exclusive Les Paul, ...and what a phenomenal grain he chose: wonderfully pronounced with perfect bookmatching! The rich, beautiful Sunburst finish with an initially red base tone, which has faded to a dark amber brown like the original, is a perfect match. “Number Two” increasingly became Jimmy's main guitar during his time with Led Zeppelin and it was only later that he made various modifications to it. Jörg Hermann had this replica — here in the more affordable VOS version — built in the original form of “Number Two.” The perfect interpretation of one of the most famous vintage guitars! The comfortable neck profile combined with a dream weight of only 3780 grams guarantees the very best playing characteristics. In addition, exclusive MHH specs such as the beautiful “Eastern Maple” top in an attractive “Antique Fade Burst” finish and an extra dark, selected rosewood fingerboard are also offered here. Above all, however, the specially wound MHH Custombuckers are fascinating across the board, making the extremely resonant “InPage” simply killer on the amp!
