But when it's then further enhanced with well-chosen, soundmighty and unfortunately also expensive upgrades, you end up holding a magnificent, one-of-a-kind instrument, perfectly optimized. It came straight from the factory with a phenomenally figured top and a super authentic Lemon Burst finish, where a new, interesting nuance is visible from every angle. On top of that it features detailed Ultra-Heavy Aging with countless dings, dents, hairline cracks and areas of missing lacquer, creating the look of a well-loved vintage Les Paul. Finally, the neck boasts a super comfortable '59 Medium profile, which combined with a dream weight of just 3780 grams guarantees the very best playing comfort. It feels amazing in your hands and offers hours of fatigue-free playing pleasure. And now the original Custombucker pickups and electronics (pots and Bumble-Bees) have been replaced with components from the renowned 8bomb workshop of Dr. Nitro Alex Dovnar (original parts included). What a fantastic upgrade! The 8bomb '59 PAF clones are – as the name suggests – meticulously modeled on original PAFs. As Dr. Nitro himself explains: “My main task was to recreate the sound and timbre of the original PAF and its incredible dynamics. Most modern pickups lack these qualities and nuances. (...) In the following years I experimented and learned to understand and adjust the interdependence of various production parameters to achieve that unmistakable PAF sound. This required me to develop my own components responsible for the correct tone. Today I manufacture components and order them directly from the manufacturer so that they precisely meet my requirements and reproduce the clear and warm PAF sound we all know from our favorite records. My 8Bomb PAF clones are replicas of the original 'Patent Applied For' pickups from 1958, 1959 and 1961. They differ slightly in dynamics and tonal nuances, but all share the same character.” And his meticulousness, passion and attention to detail are evident in the sound of this Les Paul: incredibly airy and transparent with precisely the mids and sparkling highs one associates with vintage PAFs.
