After the last Kirk Hammett “Greeny” flew off our shelves we went back on the hunt and found another specimen of this extremely limited edition guitar produced by the Gibson Custom Shop. The '59 Les Paul “Greeny” in its current form has been in the hands of Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett since 2014. This is undoubtedly the most legendary and world-famous Paula, which made music history in the hands of Peter Green and Gary Moore. “Albatross” and “Parisienne Walkways” are the tunes associated with this musical icon, which now continues to grace the biggest stages with Kirk Hammett. And this particular model is truly exceptionally beautiful! The top is extremely attractive with its distinctive grain and rich Lemon Burst. Of course the guys at Murphy Lab have done a great job here, too, replicating the look of the original perfectly. From characteristic paint scratches and significant abrasions to the carved “KH” initials on the back – every little detail has been taken into account here. In addition, with its comfortable medium “Custom Greeny” neck profile and a dream weight of only XXXX grams it offers the very best playing characteristics. There's probably not much more to say about its iconic sound. It really rocks on the amp, including the characteristic “Out of Phase” sound. The Les Paul is incredibly direct and open. The tone is excellent to work with, and the neck pickup sings phenomenally, which would have made Gary very happy. “Still Got the Blues” at its finest! The guitar is in absolutely top condition. So if you're looking for the ultimate Greeny, here you have an extremely rare icon of music history that offers the perfect combination of dream sound, particularly beautiful top-of-the-line looks, outstanding playability and the very best value retention.
