Today we are really happy to be able to offer you two Les Pauls that have been "painted" by Tom Murphy himself as evidenced by the initials "TM" in the control compartment of the guitars. Such special Gibsons from the Custom Shop have been highly sought-after since the opening of the Murphy Lab due to their high rarity value and will be even harder to come by in the future, as Tom Murphy will now eventually retire into a well-deserved retirement. The Les Paul here, the fantastic result of Tom Murphy and Jörg Hermann's collaboration, comes with a gorgeous finish in "Murphy's Lemon Burst", as well as an exceptional top grain that has a perspective depth rarely seen. Super authentic heavy-aging of the Murphy Lab with numerous hairline cracks, quirks and abrasions in the characteristic places. And what the looks promise, the feel of this 60th Anniversary is in no way inferior: the comfortable "50s Rounded Tom Murphy Shape" neck profile, a pleasant 59-Medium profile, feels great in the hand and, combined with the dream weight of just 3620 grams, plays simply phenomenal. Jörg Hermann and Tom Murphy not only worked together on the wood selection here, but also pulled out all the stops when it came to choosing the pickups. So this incredibly resonant Les Paul with MHH specs features unpotted "Murphy Specs" Custombuckers modeled after old PAFs. The neck pickup is "underwound" and delivers beautifully warm, transparent and three-dimensional sounds at clean amp settings. Never undifferentiated or muddy in the basses. At higher gain settings all sounds from Gary Moore to Mike Bloomfield to Bill Gibbons can be covered. In contrast, the bridge pickup convinces with its fat and smacky sound with rich basses and biting, but never shrill trebles. We are happy to offer you this soundmighty player in an exclusive guise in mint condition.
