Gibson Les Paul Supreme (2005)

Pure luxury - that's the only way to describe this guitar! Here we have a 2005 Les Paul Supreme, which was not made in the Custom Shop, but nevertheless as a limited Gibson USA model is a guitar of absolute superlatives. Based on a Les Paul Standard it has quite a few special equipment specs that set it apart from the regular standard model: AAAA flamed maple was used for the top and back, which are glued to a chambered mahogany body to reduce weight and artfully bound by two multiply bindings. An opulent mother-of-pearl inlay, as well as a golden truss rod cover already indicate the magnificent basic character of this instrument, and the gauzy nitro varnish reveals an exceptionally beguiling wood grain. The dark ebony fingerboard is decorated with split-block inlays, the beautiful gold hardware and especially the gold-plated frets stand for purest luxury. And, of course, it is particularly positive that the beautiful wood structure of the fully finished guitar back is not interrupted here by the otherwise usual electronics compartment. But this Gibson also shines with special inner values, a full and warm sound, as well as playability at the top level. The grippy 50s rounded neck profile fits perfectly in the hand and the proven 490R and 498T humbuckers deliver finest double coil sound with slightly higher midrange compared to the classic P.A.F. replicas, which corresponds great with the woody basic character of the instrument. Lovers of Classic Rock and Blues will feel especially at home here.
