With EMGs, Floyd Rose and a black and white striped look even a guitar design from the 50s can become a metal monster. This is proven by the Gibson Moderne of Doom, Zakk Wylde's modification of the original, which was designed in 1957 under Ted McCarty. However, the ZWMOD really only has the shape in common with the original as even the mahogany neck has been replaced by a maple neck with a dark Richlite fingerboard (Richlite is a plastic that looks amazingly similar to wood, but is much more robust). The result is a guitar that unleashes an elemental force when played with a distorted amp. A very fat sound, which is of course incredibly focused and clear thanks to the active EMGs. Once you start shredding the pentatonic up and down you hardly want to stop. Every note leaves the amp with incredible juice and plenty of sustain. The guitar comes from a limited series of 250 specimens, of which we can offer you number 148 here. A few small marks in the varnish testify to live use in the past, but overall we are dealing with a great condition and the frets are still top.
