Gary Lee Clark Jr., American Blues guitarist and singer from Austin, TX, is known for his magnificent fusion of Blues, Rock and Soul with Hip-Hop elements. This resulted in three Grammy Awards for "Best Traditional R&B Performance" in 2014 and "Best Rock Song" and "Best Rock Performance" in 2020. It's hardly surprising that Gibson dedicated his own signature guitar to this exceptional artist, which is an SG largely based on the '61 specs. Accordingly this specimen immediately impresses with its "Slim Taper D" neck profile, which makes it really fast and extremely comfortable to whiz around on, and its fantastic weight of just 2860 grams. And of course the classic look in the traditional Vintage Cherry finish is also appealing. But the absolute highlight of this guitar is its sound as a result of the special pickup equipment. Three P90 pickups are used here, which deliver a great tone: well differentiated at the bridge with a very fast response. Smacking sound that transmits every touch nuance 1:1. Enough mids to prevail and always extremely transparent. Pure Blues on the neck, round and pearly without being muddy. And if all that isn't enough, the intermediate position offers even more phenomenal soundscapes when all three pickups are activated. We are pleased that we can offer you this gem in mint condition except for two minimal signs of wear on the headstock.
