Martin CEO-5 Special Edition 12-Fret (2002)
Martin CEO-5 Special Edition 12-Fret (2002)
This extraordinary acoustic guitar from Martin's factory in Nazareth, PA, is serial number 28 from the CEO-5 mini series limited to 500 specimens. Its specs were personally selected by none other than Martin CEO C.F. Martin IV. Dreadnought body shape, 12-fret design and slotted headstock, such features are rarely seen in such a unique combination. Furthermore, a “Bearclaw” Sitka spruce top is used here, which ensures a bright and powerful sound experience, especially in the mid and high frequencies with the wonderful overtones resonating for a long time. Due to its strong vibration behavior the top in combination with the proven “Scalloped X” bracing creates an incomparable dynamic that supports both classic strumming and fingerpicking with a powerful sound. The back and sides made from Sapele wood also offer a three-dimensional tonal depth and warm timbre with growling basses and especially singing mids. The slightly V-shaped, medium-strength neck provides an extremely pleasant and smooth playing feel and is extremely comfortable. And the subtly aged gloss finish in combination with loving details such as mother-of-pearl dot inlays, ebony fingerboard, herringbone design on the binding and rosette as well as the elegant Martin logo on the headstock ensure a phenomenal appearance for this rare acoustic. As a special treat the previous owner made a fantastic update by adding an exclusive “Sunrise” acoustic pickup to the harmonious overall package. This pickup is not only extremely expensive, but also brings the great acoustic sound to the amp in the best possible way. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer you this very special specimen in top condition with only minimal signs of use.
