The D-45 is the flagship of Martin's dreadnought series and the present specimen presents itself as an absolute object of desire! If you could wish for a beautiful acoustic guitar with the best sound and playing characteristics, it would be this Martin. It has been nicely played in and tuned over the years, the wonderful Sitka spruce top is fantastically darkened and gives the guitar the authentic appearance of a vintage Martin. Completing the classy look are East Indian rosewood back and sides, as well as an ebony fingerboard inlaid with abalone. Similar inlays can also be found on the soundhole and binding. The neck with its medium profile fits perfectly in the hand and ensures optimal playing comfort. But the highlight here, besides the incredible looks, is certainly the sound. Super balanced with a very wide frequency spectrum, where you miss nothing. No bass buzz or overemphasized strings. Optimal also for recording. You can just hear that this guitar is well-rehearsed. If you are looking for the perfect dreadnought sound, you will find it here. Not only for strumming, also for fingerpicking ... very balanced with great response. Of course the guitar shows in some places that it has been played. A few small scratches and the yellowed clear varnish on the binding is worn off in a few places (see pictures 24 and 25), which is only visually noticeable, but does not affect the feel in any way. There are minimal play marks on the first frets, but otherwise the guitar is in great condition. So, if you want a phenomenal player with a gorgeous look, unique vintage patina and the highest selection level of woods used, don't miss this gem.
