Here we have something very special for you: the new Martin SC-2022 from the Custom Shop of the traditional US manufacturer. This model is packed with special features and represents the first instrument made in Nazareth with the revolutionary SC body shape. The body was made from selected tonewoods. For example, the top is made of solid Sitka spruce that has undergone the famous "Martin VTS (Vintage Tone System)" process, which uses heat and pressure treatment to give the guitar the coveted aged Martin tone and vibration characteristics of a guitar that has been played in for decades. The back and sides are made of beautiful East Indian rosewood and, like the internal resonant arching, provide a voluminous, "bassy" sound. Furthermore, extremely light Liquidmetal bridge pins, which also provide more volume, as well as a "Fishman Aura VT Blend" electronics were installed here. This pickup system takes advantage of a really sophisticated design. A preamp is built into the sound hole, which is paired with the capabilities of the Aura Acoustic Imaging Technology. This setup allows mixing and smoothly blending the direct signal of the Fishman undersaddle pickup and the additional integrated Aura microphone according to one's own preferences. The playing characteristics of this acoustic are top-notch thanks to the patented "Sure Align" neck system providing perfect access to all 20 frets, and the flatter, exceedingly comfortable "Low-Profile Velocity" neck profile, which gives one the playability of an electric guitar. The neck can be adjusted to suit any preference due to various variation options, as well as interchangeable inserts. And the appearance of this Martin speaks for itself. Classic vintage look meets modern cutaway and phenomenally beautiful abalone inlays on the fingerboard, soundhole and binding. Of course with such an innovative and in many ways special instrument it's no surprise that you're also enchanted by the sound of the SC-2022 with its full, but by no means too bass-heavy sound volume.
