Nik Huber has established himself as one of the most talented guitar makers of his generation. He founded his workshop in 1996 and has since redefined the level of perfection associated with the coveted term “Boutique Guitar.” His models are named after marine mammals, such as Orca and Dolphin. ...or even “Blue Whale” like the fabulous gem we are offering you today. Certainly one of the most beautiful, best and most spectacular guitars currently available for purchase. This instrument is truly superlative in every way, starting with an incredibly beautiful one-piece quilted maple top with a maximum three-dimensional effect in "Ocean Blue", to a figured mahogany body and a complete(!) neck and various components made out of Brazilian rosewood (of course with the necessary CITES certification). But the visual highlight is undoubtedly the phenomenal blue whale inlay on the fretboard. It doesn't get any better than this! The Dolphin-based “Blue Whale” features pickups from H. Häussel (Neck: VIN, Bridge: 1959), which as expected were inspired by original PAFs. Fantastic clean sound, super round and balanced with pleasant warmth. Always beautifully sparkling and nuanced, but also distorted and bluesy — simply an absolutely top-notch sound! Lots of character and you can work with the touch sensitivity really well. Also perfect for singing lead sounds with enormous expression! The fact that the playing characteristics are also above average and that the proceeds from this instrument were donated to the rescue of the largest marine mammals is really just a pleasant side note to this exclusive package. The guitar is including the frets in top condition.
