This Nik Huber Orca with '59 specs is simply a work of art in every respect. A definite highlight is the beautiful Brazilian rosewood fretboard (of course with the necessary CITES certificate). ...and then there's that phenomenal one-piece top! A "Curly 'Wild' Maple" top with a fabulous grain and the fantastic, matte "Faded Sunburst" finish. The guitar's body is made of a single piece of mahogany with tone chambers and it's equipped with Nik Huber's own Häussel humbuckers. Combined with the impeccable playability typical of Nik Huber guitars this is an absolute top-tier instrument. The neck with its slightly stronger '59 profile feels great in the hand and in conjunction with its dream weight of 3410 grams plays superbly. Even acoustically the Orca is surprisingly loud and full, and through an amp incredibly transparent and three-dimensional. Tonally a whole world opens up here and it's incredibly fun to work with different playing dynamics, as the guitar perfectly captures even the subtlest nuances. The pickups can be split via a push/pull pot, giving this guitar a wide range of sounds. Rocking with a great attack, gritty with a beautifully resonant tone and even almost Strat-like sounds in split mode. What more can we say?
