Anyone who indulges in an E-bike passion as well as in passion for a guitars will probably be familiar with the name Rayvolt. The young company from Barcelona specializes in noble E-bikes that look as if they come from the middle of the last century. Nik Huber himself rides such a vehicle to work and was so thrilled with his purchase that he designed a Semihollow Surfmeister in cooperation with Rayvolt. Only two pieces of this instrument were built and they look just as stylish as its two-wheeled role model: a lacquer finish in open-pore British Racing Green meets a natural mahogany back and a very special hardware, which has been copper-plated in an extremely elaborate process. The neck with its "Std. Dolphin" profile plays just as snappy as you'd imagine a ride on such a bike to be. Add to that the Rayvolt logo as an artistic inlay at the 12th fret. The pickups are two Häussel TroneBuckers, which deliver exactly the sound that you want from such Humbuckers: played clean they are pearly and funky, distorted with the wonderful middle nose, which immediately reminds you of AC/DC. A great all-around guitar that can handle just about any style. If you're into the stylish looks and want a fantastic player, you can't go wrong here - especially since the guitar comes in at a mere 2.7 kg due to its semi-hollow construction.
