The collaboration between Blues virtuoso David Grissom and PRS is one of the most enduring in the guitar business. His signature model is therefore available in countless versions, which he describes as follows: “The DGT is a product that has a lot of miles on it: many gigs, many records. It's like picking up an old guitar. It sounds like a vintage guitar and it's ready to play right out of the box. A lot of thought has gone into it. The DGT is pretty perfect for me." And here we have a particularly exclusive version with tremolo (DGT stands for David Grissom Tremolo) and a very special choice of wood. It is a 10-Top from the Wood Library of Paul Reed Smith. The Wood Library allows dealers to customize the wood composition of their PRS Core guitars according to their own taste and to order special unique pieces. This has been completely successful here. What a phenomenal grain, what a great color and what a fantastic book-matching! However, the guitar is not only visually impressive. The playability is also first-class thanks to the super comfortable DGT neck profile. And in terms of sound, the guitar is at the very top anyway. The DGT sounds incredibly present, tight and balanced even without an amp. When amplified, the DGT humbuckers provide a classic PAF sound with plenty of depth in tone. Inspired by David's career in the Lone Star State, these twin coilers deliver a vintage-inspired, smoky tone, a more than listenable interpretation of the real PAFs. David and Paul Reed Smith spent an entire year testing and refining more than 40 pairs of pickups before finally settling on these.
