PRS Mark Tremonti Black Wraparound (2018)

Mark Tremonti, guitarist for Creed, Alter Bridge and Tremonti, was contacted by PRS during a tour with Creed in support of their first album "My Own Prison" and asked, if he would like to try one of their guitars. "I was immediately hooked on the idea of playing a PRS guitar. PRS was one of those guitars I could never afford in high school or college and I always wanted to play one." PRS sent Mark a McCarty model, which he immediately fell in love with. For a while he played that guitar exclusively, but eventually he wanted an instrument that better suited his playing style. So began a collaboration between him and PRS to design his dream guitar, which would soon become the Mark Tremonti signature model. Based on the McCarty model pickups were added that were a bit more aggressive and just suited his rhythm playing as well. The neck profile also needed to match his style, which is influenced by Thrash Metal, Shred and traditional Blues. PRS met these requirements with the "Pattern Thin" neck shape. That they did a bang-up job at it is evident in this PRS Mark Tremonti, which comes in the rare but so Tremonti-characteristic Black Wraparound finish. The special Tremonti pickup on the bridge is simply optimal for a differentiated Rock board and sings fantastically on lead sounds. The Tremonti pickup on the neck has less output and is always beautifully differentiated, not muddy in any way. And in the intermediate position this combination brings wonderful clean sounds. Simply a Rock workhorse at its best! The neck with its Pattern-Thin profile plays like itself in conjunction with the patented PRS tremolo, and the beautifully deep-dark rosewood fingerboard invites extended runs and solos.
