PRS McCarty Hollowbody II 20th Anniversary (2005)

What an incredible McCarty Hollowbody! Rarely have we held a guitar in our hands which sound has blown us away so much. You can immediately tell that this 20-year-old PRS has been played a lot. Even without an amp it sounds perfectly balanced, extremely resonant and loud. But as soon as you plug it in you're simply overwhelmed. Very open and nuanced with phenomenal sustain. The tone stands and stands, even in clean mode! The two “McCarty Archtop” pickups deliver a fantastic sound: wonderfully bell-like and warm when played clean, rich Rock riffs at the bridge and singing leads at the neck when distorted. The PRS impresses across the board with its characteristic hollowbody sounds, which cover everything from Jazz to Rock in the best possible way. Its playability is also first-class thanks to the popular “Wide Fat” neck profile and a dream weight of only 2290 grams. And the fact that this top-notch player is also really attractive and more than charming with its great sunburst and distinctive top grain rounds off the perfect overall package fabulously. The “natural relicing” that the guitar underwent at the hands of its previous owner, a professional musician, is also fitting. At Fender or Gibson this would be considered an “extra charge option,” but here you get the famously rocked-out look with numerous scratches and dents in all the right places completely free of charge. ...and this “honest” vintage patina is really something you have to see! Of course the frets also show slight signs of wear, but they will certainly provide many more years of uninterrupted musical enjoyment.
